Official Document Introduction

What is Blockchain Bridge

A blockchain bridge is a connection that allows tokens and/or arbitrary data to be transferred from one chain to another. The two chains may have different protocols, rules and governance models, but the bridge creates a reliable mechanism for interoperability of the two chains.

There are many different bridge designs, but they generally fall into two categories: more centralized bridges that rely on trust or federations, and more decentralized bridges that do not require trust.

What is a full bridge?

Allbridge is a simple, modern and reliable way to transfer assets between different networks. It is a bridge between EVM (e.g. Ethereum, Polygon, BSC) and non-EVM compliant (e.g. Solana, Terra) blockchains and is designed to cover future L2 (e.g. Arbitrum, Optimism) solutions and NFT transfers.

Allbridge's mission is to make the blockchain world borderless by providing a tool to move assets freely between different networks.

How is Allbridge different?

1. EVM, L2 and non-EVM blockchain support

Allbridge supports connections between EVM, L2 and non-EVM compatible chains. We bridge coins, tokens, and plan to expand our support for NFT in the future.

2. Rapid transfer

Our underlying technology allows transfers to be made as fast as normal transactions on a given blockchain. Each transfer involves two transactions: one from the source blockchain and the other from the target chain. In the case of Allbridge, the transaction takes only as long as it takes for the given blockchain to confirm it. If the confirmation is fast enough, the transfer can be completed almost immediately.

3. Architecture flexibility

Allbridge supports many different types of transfers. Users can send Native tokens and receive Native or Wrapped (minted) tokens on the target blockchain. They can also send Wrapped tokens from the source blockchain and receive Native or Wrapped tokens on the target chain.

4. Dynamic costs

A dynamic fee system allows Allbridge pledgees to reduce the cost they pay to transfer assets. Bridging fees are paid before the transaction is sent, so pledging on the source blockchain reduces bridging costs.

5. Security

Our code has been audited by industry security leader Hacken for potential vulnerabilities. The inspection found Allbridge's code to be extremely secure, demonstrating that our bridge is reliable and protects users' money from bad actors and malicious behavior.
