DEX Screener is a fairly new site providing advanced data, queues and other trading tools for various blockchains. Lots of information. Let's explore DEX Screener and explain what it says with the Cronos chain in mind.

Navigate to DEX Filters

Step 1. https ://dexscreener.com/

Step 2: On the left side, find the Cronos blockchain and click on it. This will show you all Cronos-related information in the https://dexscreener.com/cronos .

Cronos DEX Screener Segmentation

All DEXES: Located at the top of the page, Cronos DEX is listed.

A decentralized exchange (or DEX) is a peer-to-peer marketplace where trading takes place directly between crypto traders. DEXs enable one of the core possibilities of crypto: facilitating financial transactions that are not regulated by banks, brokers or any other intermediaries. Many popular DEXs, such as Uniswap and Sushiwap, run on the ethereum blockchain.

There is a lot of DEX on Cronos. However, it is still early. Which projects will play a leading role?

LATEST BLOCK | 1 HOUR TXNS | 1H VOLUME : Located near the top. The time can be viewed in 5-minute, 1-hour, 6-hour, and 24-hour intervals using the drop-down menu that points to the center.

  • What do you mean by block?
    • Blockchain is a shared database that differs from typical databases in the way it stores information; blockchain stores data in blocks that are then linked together by cryptography.
    • As new data comes in, it is fed into a new block. Once the block is filled with data, it is linked to the previous block, which causes the data to be linked together in chronological order.

For example, at the time of this writing, Cronos is on a 310k block in its chain. Since it was launched only three weeks ago, this makes sense. When you look at BSC, it sits on a 13M block because it has been around longer.

  • TXNS: This represents transactions. There were 580 transactions in this hour.
  • VOLUME: This is how many dollars were traded in that hour, in this case, $610,000 on the Cronos blockchain.

TOKEN: Located first in the table, token is the name of the Cronos token. Tokens are listed in descending order of the number of recent (5 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours) transactions. In this case, VVS/WCRO leads with 211 transactions.

  • Why do some tokens duplicate and pair with different tokens?

In order to trade on DEX, cryptocurrencies need to be exchanged during the transaction. They are called transaction pairs and are separated by a dash or slash. For example, BTC/ETH represents a pair. A person can buy BTC with ETH or sell BTC to get ETH. So in this case, a person can buy VVS with WCRO or sell VVS and get WCRO.

Obviously, WCRO is not the only way to purchase VVS, it can be used with #2 VVS/USDC and #7 VVS/USDT. The same policy applies. Allowing investors to purchase tokens with more than one cryptocurrency is very powerful and allows for more transactions.

Price: This is the current price of the token. The market influences the price to fluctuate.

TXNS: This is the number of transactions in the last (5 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours)

Transaction Volume: This is how many tokens were traded in that time frame ($).

The Price Change column (5M, 1H, 6H, 24H) refers to the price change over the specified time period. Green indicates an increase, while red indicates a decrease. If you look at the overall performance of the token, now 5M may not be as reliable as 24H. However, it can indicate stability and help with investment decisions.

You can sort each time column from highest to lowest and vice versa. This will update the table and may show different markers in the trail. Whether this helps you make financial decisions is up to you.

Liquidity: This is the cash value of a token pair. What it would be worth if all the tokens in the pair were sold in return. Over time, tokens can increase or decrease their liquidity due to market, external factors (e.g. burning, surge of investors, promotions, etc.). Projects strive to increase their liquidity.

Dexscreener

MCAP: This is the total value of the cryptocurrencies without regard to the pairing. For example, if you sort MCAP from highest to lowest, you will see all VVS pairs in the top three positions. All have the same or near-identical market capitalization because VVS tokens hold that value.

If you scroll down further, you'll see some changes to CRON, but it's still close to the same value of $66 million.

The point is that the tokens will hold market value, whether VVS or CRONA or ELK.

Fault Review

Overall, DEX Screener is a very powerful tool to find information about tokens on Cronos. A simple but effective user interface allows even the most novice cryptocurrency investors to gather relevant financial information. Of course, always do your own research and verify that the information described is correct at the time. Sometimes mistakes or flukes can occur, so please stay alert.

I hope this how-to guide is useful to you. No one has really broken down what a chart like this means for DeFi beginners. The Chronicle understands and is always here to help. If you have any questions, please contact us or DEX Screener .
